We have an Airstream!

I'm delighted to share that my nonprofit, Hepatitis C Clinical Education Group/HepCarestream has purchased a 2010 30' Flying Cloud!! The previous owners are Steve and Tess over at The More We Explore. I'd been following them for about a year and knew they took really good of the trailer they named Sparky, and that they were good people. When they announced Sparky was for sale I felt very confident to buy it We started negotiations in late August, and they were patient as I found a way to find funding. Sparky was delivered on October 25th after being transported from Alpine, Utah where it had been stored. Steve and Tess referred to Sparky as a he, but I think he's a she. So, I will retire the name Sparky and begin to consider a new name and identity. For now, she'll be stored at an RV storage spot in Alameda until I figure out exactly where I'll be starting my work as the Outreach Liaison for UCSF's ECHO+ project.

Mike Cantonwine, the driver who transported the trailer from Alpine, Utah to Alameda, CA

I spent just a bit of time in her after the driver left.

Me with the title to the HepCarestream!

It feels good to know that this vessel will be used to do good for so many people. She will facilitate the ability to have presence in communities that are low on resources and high in hepatitis C burden. Thanks again to Steve and Tess of The More We Explore. I'll see you out there on the road!
